Flower arranging at Gorhambury

Develop your flower arranging technique, with Isabel Barnes at the start of summer, and learn a skill to take you through the season.

Get to know your florist: I’m a floral designer with a deep love for nature; its colours and quiet beauty. Through The Botanical Barn, I create whimsical, garden-inspired arrangements that celebrate the changing seasons and the joy of flowers.

My style blends elegance with a touch of wild, always rooted in thoughtful design and an appreciation for the natural world. Whether I’m styling weddings, curating blooms for local deliveries, or teaching flower arranging workshops, my goal is to bring a sense of joy, wonder, and connection to mother nature.

10am: Brief tour of the Gorhambury Gardens with Head Gardener Gill Hewis and florist Isabel Barnes, giving you the chance to see where the greenery has come from, and select a stem from the gardens to add to your flower arrangement.

10:30am: Refreshments in the Garden Hall and demonstration from Isabel. She will create an arrangement in a vase using similar flowers to those in bloom in the garden and teach you how to create your own, now and for the summer.

10:45am – 12pm: Flower arranging in the Garden Hall.

What to bring: Garden gloves, secateurs, wear weather appropriate clothing.

Please note: There are a fair number of stone steps and uneven surfaces throughout the estate.
