Yoga with Finlay Hinde

The discipline of Hatha Yoga aims at the release of tensions and stress in the body through coordinated flow, and through the physical approach of its postures called asanas. The distinctive method of classical Hatha is the way asanas are performed, slowly and mindfully. The mind is helped to create a “feel” for the body through the intuitive performance of the asanas. We will occupy a full spectrum of energies from gross to subtle, effort to relaxation. The body responds by becoming stronger and more flexible, releasing the resistance established by the lack of practice and old habits. A closer relationship is then created between body and mind, and one begins to perceive a fresh sense of well being. If the practice of this ancient knowledge is maintained with regularity, soon a new state of health will be experienced and enjoyed. Hatha Yoga classes draw on many styles of Yoga including Classical Hatha, Hatha Flow, Kundalini, Ashtanga and Iyengar Yoga.

The yoga at Gorhambury on this wellness day will be intended for people who already have some Yoga experience, however if you are a beginner, you are very welcome to join us for the day, please just let us know beforehand and we can tailor the class to suit all our guests.

Sound Bath with Laura Hinde

The full spectrum of sound of the Symphonic Gong vibrates all the cells, bones and organs. Symphonic means that the gong is crafted to produce clear notes and harmonics which can be brought forth using different mallets and striking points, but it is not tuned to any one particular frequency. Each constellation of participants experiences a unique combination of tones, sounds and vibrations particular to them.  We can experience healing at a cellular level to rebalance the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies.
